The Calls Keep On Coming

URGENT HELP – DONATIONS NEEDED

We are in crisis. I need you to read this entire post and help us now. This is as critical as it gets for our rescue.

The last 6 weeks have been so difficult. The bushfires have really hit our farmers hard. They have affected our rescue.

We have more animals than ever before needing rehousing because of their owners and properties being drought or bushfire affected. The calls keep on coming. Louder and louder and much more than before.

The drought was bad enough but now coupled with the fires, it’s the worst combination possible.

On top of this, most sadly, adoptions have also decreased drastically. Before the fires we had trouble keeping up with adoptions, now we work all day every day searching for potential adopters that aren't drought or bushfire affected.

It’s a combination we never thought was coming and we had not budgeted for.

We’ve been trying our best. We have three holding sations where we hold animals from large scale dairy and egg farms. This buys us some more time to find adoptors for these precious animals but as you can imagine when we created holding stations we expected the animals to come and go as quickly as they did before Summer kicked in, they would be with us for just days, now we have them for much longer, weeks, and need much more funding to do so to be able to provide feed and health care.

The exhaustion is intense. Both physical and mental. Our team of volunteers are some weeks only getting a few hours of sleep a night.

I won’t lie. I’ve been in tears most nights. It’s really taken it’s toll.

Tonight, we are begging for your help. We can’t wait any longer as our bank balance runs dry and the cries for help get louder and louder. It’s crunch time and we desperately need your help.

We need to raise $50,000. This is our emergency appeal for help. You can be assured that every dollar you donate will go straight to helping and saving more precious animals immediately.

The funds will go immediately to feeding our animals in care, transport for collection of animals in need, particularly from egg and dairy farms as well as new holding stations and supplies for calves and hens in surrender and adoption heavy regions starting with NSW and then QLD and supporting our team to make these rescues possible.

$25 will feed a precious calf for a week.

Just $5 from each and every one of you would get us over the line. It’s the cost of your next cup of coffee but one that will help save a life and keep us being able to answer the calls for help.

If there was ever a time we needed you, it’s now! We just urgently need these funds.

I’m hoping that when I wake up in the morning we have reached our goal.
